Default Where are you guy's mounting your Escort 8500 X50 radar detectors in your Camaro's..

...and TA's?
Like the title Say's, I'm looking for idea's on where to mount the radar detector. My radar detector seems to tilt upwards due to my heavily slanted windshield even though I bent the suction cup holder for the radar detector. Pic's would be great. Thanks in advance.

mounted passenger side above mirror, took apart my cluster to put in sensor... it's at the of my guage cluster between the tach and speedo held by molding tape, velcro isn't strong enough, no wires and you definately know when it's going off (blink right in your face), i'll post pics in a little

crappy pics because of sun, but where the detector is mounted, because you have the mirror angled toward you, on the passenger side of the mirror the tilt is perfect, and it kinda rests up there

Nice, That looks cool. Good idea.
I did read that I can get a hot wire kit for this radar detector too.
If there's anymore, keep them coming guy's.

nice, I got red

take off the kick panel for a ground, you'll see it, for power just find any pink wire. Since I installed it in my guages I used the pink wire from the turn signals. pop off the a-pillar to run the wire , (2 screws at top, take the top off to see them), the headliner is easy to pull down to tuck the wire. I have like 2ft extra in my headliner, lol.

anyway... good luck!

edit, just realized you had pillar guages and such, i'm sure you know what your doing, lol.. nice car man

I have mine mounted where Crager's is, however, I don't see the point in the smart cord you can hit mute right on the front of the detector and at that level it's right in your eye anyway.

At first I was thinking of mounting the detector on the dash over the gauge console but didn't want to drill holes in my dash. Especially when electronics and different models have a tendency to be obsolete in a few years.
