What springs can I use to lower my car and not affect performance? After I went with a 9" and weight reduction my car sits alot higher.

Lowering springs don't allow weight transfer as well as factory or drag specific springs, which can actually hurt your 60' .

remove the rear rubber isolator and just put heater hose around the top coil of the spring and it'll settle down the 2" or so in the rear, I had to do that on my camaro as well since it sat like a 4x4.

Or you can cut the stock springs. That works too and is free.

Be careful about lowering the car with a 9 inch, it may hit the fuel tank. Especially if you have a fluid fill in the top of the rear.


I have a set of Global West rear springs with adjustable perches, They fit in the stock location $150.

Not only does it hit the gas tank it will also hit the rear most part of the tunnel. I had to cut my tank and notch my tunnel but my **** is slammed on the ground though.

Mine did that also, I have also notched the tank. I have a Spohn Tq Arm in the car. I removed it and cut the inside holes of the mounting bracket off centering the arm in the tunnel. Which is what the instructions said to do...I just didnt read them until after I "clearanced" the floorboard.

I was told by many sponsors that the f-body likes a stiffer spring in the rear so I kept my hypercoil lowering springs in the rear. If they do not work when I go to the track I will swap to the stockers with the heater hose mod.

I didn't know a 9" will raise the car? Why is that? I took out my isolator and have rubber hose on my BMR 1" lowering springs and I just bought a Moser 9". I don't want it sitting high. I'm not looking for a low rider here but I like the tire tucked a bit.

because the axle tubes are bigger which in turn makes the spring pads higher

i have 1" lowering springs in the back and for now stock in the front. cut the 60ft in my sig with that setup. only other suspension is boxed trailing arms..
