Just wondering what a stock GTO can take out on the road? Haha or what ur not so stock GTO's have takin out? This should tied me over till I see my car in December!!!!

I hear ya... Just know that the car packs a punch and depending on the driver, you can take down quite a few different cars... You're gonna love it. Mod it some and who knows....

Me being a stock 04 (besides muffler delete), I've beaten a modded STi (still puzzles me today), 350z, Talon TSI, Eclipse GST, Cobalt ss, s4, Evo. I have videos for a couple of the races if you want me to send you the links to them.

I have a few mods and am hoping to run up against another street legal non GTO that can beat me. I have taken down all types from Tuners (evo, sti, Zs) to z06 vettes. I will be putting on a little squeeze (150) but will probably never use it on the street.

Wow... sounds like you guys have takin out some decent cars on the road! I cant wait to drive mine.... so yeah after talking with a bunch of ya guys.. I'm going with Kooks long tubes, Borla exhaust dual exit, and the AEM CAI... then probably a tune right? so what you guys think I might have at the rear wheels then on the 2004? just wonderin.. take it easy!

i dunno, ive been seeing stock 6.0s run low 14s. a mildly modded 5.7 should run mid to upper 13s.

I have seen many stock 01-02 ls1s run off and leave a 04 GTO. That being said you should be able to take out you gt's, cobras (b4 03-04), all your stock imports besides the evo and sti which are launching maniacs but from a high roll you will be alright, stock lt1's and maybe some stock 98-00 ls1's (driver race). First off GTO's in my opinion have traction issues. With full exhaust a 04 GTO is capable of running mid 13's but dont be surprised when you get handed a 14 sec slip, it will take awhile to figure out your launch and your shift points with the t56 and the auto 04's actually ran .10 faster than the 6speeds, after a few trips you should be running mid 13's. Get to know your car because 9 times out of ten you will be in a drivers race.

Thanks for the tips and info guys. Cant wait to get back and drive my car. I just got some pics in the mail today.. I'll be posting them in a bit. I love that black with red interior it's awesome!!

I know most of the time a race comes down to a driver... but with the gto what is a good RPM level for a launch? What have you guys found are the best shift points?
