Default 3rd gen LS1 AC Brackets

I was wondering what you guys think about using the 3rd gen AC compressor when swapping an LS1 into a 3rd gen. I found a kit from "fbody motorsports" but it is $300. But the same kit is on ebay starting at like $150.

Check it out:

It's nothing im planning any time soon, but i'm still looking. Is it a good idea to use the 3rd gen ac compressor, or reuse the LS1 stock one..but the lines are not the same.
Thanks!

I think my buddy Daniel has that same setup, only thing is that the factory AC compressor rubs against the coolant resivoir. Ge is going to get the 86 and older bottle and it should be fine.

Do you have any idea where he got his kit from, and how much he paid for it?

if i remember right though, jay was saying they had problems with them throwing belts on our cars (daniels's i think it was too). So i opted not to have my A/C put in unless i hear otherwise.

Throwing belts? Could be a misalignment or tensioner isue, i've never seen/had problems with any kind of serpentine setup. the brackets seem pretty stout so i doubt it would flex.

Big waste of money in my opinion. At first they did have issues with it throwing belts, but they figured it out. With the money I wasted i should have just bought a tubular Kmember and used the 4thgen setup, which is probably what i will do in a year or 2 and just sell the setup i have now. If you are set on keeping the 3rdgen compressor buy it from that ebay posting because fbodymotorsports is a joke. they took like 2-3 months to send my bracket out and was not worth $300 dollars in my opinion.

yeah man, i ordered parts from fbodymotorsports and took a good month for side markers, emblems, and just small random stuff. I was pissed, i considered buying a hood from them but the price is outrageous and the shipping takes forever.
AC would be very nice to keep, i don't think there is realy another option, to keep AC in the car.
