it's much easier with a lift but sure it can be done in the driveway using jack stands...

You can sure do it on jack stands but it's gonna be a major pain in the *** cuz of clearance issues n everythin! Installation costs in a shop should run u about $100.

Um no...An install takes atleast 4 hours, whatever shop your going to that charges $25 an hour is amazing. Most shops charge a minimum of $350 from what I have seen...I did mine at home with some jack stands and had no problems what so ever. I would reccomend doing it yourself, learning about your car, and saving money for future mods.

Thats crazy low. You can expect to pay more than that. If you have the time and a few friends, get some beer and you'll be done in no time.

Hey,.. looky,.. its a fellow SLP bitch!! I have SLP LTs also. Honestly bro,.. with those LTs,.. take it to a shop. Even on a lift I was close to becoming homicidal put'n those suckers in.

Save yourself the loss of sanity. Something about SLP LTs just makes em a pain and a half to install.

for a first timer it will usually take about 6 to 7 hours.

advice is to have a buddy help hold the headers up for you so you can bolt them up. un bolt the coil pack assy and take that off. spark plug wires spark plugs. and a good ole 10mm ratchet wrinch will work wonders in the back of that passenger side

Have you ever installed SLPs?!! Seriously,.. it's not like installing a set of Pacesetters!

My personal advise is to take it to a shop if you want to save yourself the headache OR buy a bottle of bourbon to keep you company! ...just my .02

I haven't had that happen yet. I'd say its alot more likely to strip the threads out of the aluminum than it woult be to break the bolt off. If you are talking about removal of the original bolts then just try and spray it down with some penatrating lube and let it soak. It's not too hard. You'll be glad that you did it once its done.

$350 is a pretty average price.. doesn't matter what shop you go to here in Houston - they all charge around $350 avg. It's expensive no doubt but you save yourself time and headache letting someone else do it.. i'd GLADLY pay $100!!

my header bolts came out without having to spray them, it was the y-pipe bolts that made me say f it and just break them.

ditto +1 . header bolts were fine . just where the manifold connects to the catalyst it was so rusted i was like F it and yanked it till the bolts / nuts broke

use some wd-40 on them instead of the header bolts
