my '98 ran 8.8's @ 82. It was a 6 spd. I think an auto maybe a little quicker than that.

77mph? Like I asked before, where are you located at? Sounds like high elevation. Also, auto or manual? Get the 60' down to 2.0-2.1 and you'll get your high 8.

I have a 2002 A4 with all bolt ons and a PTC 3500 stall converter. I ran a 8.0 @ 86.22 mph with a 1.74 60ft. This was done on Micky Thompson ET Streets DR's.. I hooked very hard. My 1/4 mile time was a 12.6 @ 108

Back in 03, my previous car, 01 TA a4, while stock, went 8.40s after I got the feel for it. I remember the first time ever down the track it went 8.72.

My current car (02 m6) went 8.40s as well while stock.

Your 60ft is killing you, get it down and you'll pick up and be closer to where you should be.

Another thing...learning to launch a car on street tires is difficult. I'd suggest picking up a pair of Nitto DR's for the car, it'll make the learning curve of launching much easier IMO. I think that will also bring your trap speed up a little bit, as I suffered from the same low trap as you did back when I was on street tires. For instance, my car moved like a full bolt on M6 car should from a roll, but only trapped a best of 107 at the time. Put DR's on, which allowed me to actually accelerate through my first and second gear instead of blowing the tires off, and increased my traps to a consistent 110-111.

I'd say Nitto 555R drag radials. They're pretty cheap too for how well they perform.

Yeah, Nittos are the most streetable of the drag radials. At your power level in an auto, traction should be no problem with them. I pulled 1.6 60fts with Nittos in my a4 car with the stock suspension.

I ran a 8.7 stock and I don't remember 60' or mph. Should be a lot better than a 9.1.

no way...my stock 03 mustang pulled an 8.7 all night long on street tires. you should be low 8s. 8.4 or less if you can get those 60s down.

I said mid to high 8s because his mph is a bit low. I'm guessing that he's at high altitude and most likely an auto which has less aggressive gearing than your stang.
