Paint & Body Work - Whats the best way to store weatherstripping

Ive got my 94 Z28 about completely dissassembled , got all the weather stripping off of it tonite . My weather stripping for the doors/T-tops , hatch ect. is in 100% perfect shape and it will be nearly a year before I will be ready to start reassembling the car . What is the best way to store the weatherstriping . Can I loosely roll it up and store it in boxes without deforming it from being rolled up so long ? Should I lubricate it , and if so with what ?

I'd put it back in the box it came in, then put that box inside like... 3 well sealed black plastic trash bags. Ozone gas is what kills the rubber, makes it brittle and crumble. You'll want to keep it close to room temperature and as far away from electronic components being used. Still won't last forever but if you take all those steps it should last as long as possible. This is what we did with all of our tires we hadn't had a chance to use yet on the UTA FSAE formula car.

Its the OEM stuff that came on the car . It just happens to be in perfect shape still and I dont want to do anything to harm them because new weatherstripping is crazy expensive .

You could spray it down with a good rubber treatment(NOT Armor all) Like mcguires and bag it up so it stays moist. Check it every few months.. Although being as it is 15 years old almost and has been in the weather just as long, another year probably won't kill it.

vaseline and a air tite container. my uncle has a 77 camaro thats only got 2000 original miles on it and he used vaseline on all weather stripping to keep it moist whie its in the cacoon and its still perfect.

Another for vaseline... i use that on my weather stripping all the time... just rub a little extra on being that its off the car and check up on it every now n then
