1st pass....
No changes other than the 2" Kooks race headers.

60' .... 1.31
1/8th ...5.77
mph ....119
1/4 .... 9.08
mph ...148.7

The Kooks 2" race headers picked me up almost 2mph !

2nd pass...
We went up a few jet sizes on the dry shot and richened it up some but it didnt like it and slowed down to a 9.17

3rd .....
We went up 1 jet size on the Direct port and left the fuel where it was. The limiters had been doing a good job of keeping the front end down but I guess the tune up was where it needed to be because it went strait up off the footbrake.
I let out before it got to the bumper.... shifted and got back on the gas right before it hit the ground..... it came back up HARD ..... I peddled it again and finally got it under control.... pulled off the track and checked it out.... looks like I saved the headers and tranny but it busted the oil pan AGAIN

Oh well it was a fun ride! We may take it back out this year but if we dont I'm happy with it.
9.DOHs out of my 3700lb TANK aint bad

We will have the video up tomorrow

350 shot on the last pass.
I shift it @ 7,000 rpm so its not really that high.

i havent really searched for your set up, so im guessing its 2 stages. how are you keeping the heads down on that combo. thats fantastic

Yes, 2 stages.

Nothing special, cometics and ARP head studs.... the right tune up helps alot!

Lot's of cylinder pressure.

so do you think the headers might have a small hand in keeping the heads down?

Those were awsome runs! I knew the kooks headers picked me up a tone but it was cool to see what it would pick up on a medium sized motor.

8's are right there lets find a race to go to to try to get there before winter!

I doubt he was having a problem fully evacuating the cylinders with the previous headers. These are just more efficient. I could see larger headers helping to keep the heads down in a certain application, but you'd be dumb to design a setup like that.

Out of curiosity, how much does a set of those 2" headers cost, i'm assuming an arm and a leg, but just curious.

Not sure I got them from George R at kooks after i won pump gas drags. I think the 1 7/8-2" ones were $1000 so these are rpobably about the same.

Who knows we just tuned it off the plugs. :D using fuel pressure and jets. timming was set low above 6200 for both shots. around 16 or so.

I have never seen a better set of plugs after the 9.08 pass. We also showed them to 2 of the fastest nitrous small block guys around our way at the rental and they both said they were perfect and agreed on the jet/fuel changes.... that lead to the wheel stand.

Your right,
I had 1 7/8 headers on the car already and didnt have a problem with head gaskets or lifting heads before the swap.

These 2" headers are definatley more efficent!

Jeff put the tune in it. We fine tuned it with fuel pressure, jets. using the plugs :D
