Default Vibration in 4th gear?

Why does the car vibrate at higher rpms in 4th gear only? Is my LS6 clutch not balaced right or could it be something in my tranny?

i'm not sure, but i have a similar issue....except it's not at high RPM's.....it will have a bit of vibration between 43mph - 47mph, but anywhere above or below those speeds, it's smooth as silk.

i'm on the stock clutch (at least i'm assuming it's stock....don't know if the previous owner swapped it or not)

I wouldn't think its a balancing issue with your clutch. If it were your clutch it should do it in all gears in higher RPM's not just in fourth.

Anytime you have a vibration thats RPM related , its an issue with the engine , motor mount or clutch area . If its speed related , its more than likely the driveshaft , trans mount or diff but in some cases the actual transmission itself .

Let's not forget about the tires being balanced as well as what was mentioned above. 4th gear is getting up around the cruising speeds as well and you could have a vibration do to improper tire balancing or you may have slung some weights off. Start with the easy less expensive stuff before you get to the hard expensive stuff.

so in my case, it's likely something with the transmission, because i can go that same speed in different gears and not get the vibration....right?

i can't imagine that the car was too terribly abused by the previous owner, seeing as how i bought it with only 11,706 miles on it (although i know that's not really a guarantee), and it's done it the entire time i've owned it (about 3.5 years)....and it has no problems going into/coming out of any gear while driving, either.

it's not a very bad vibration, more annoying than anything else
