Default How to remove IAT sensor to install SLP lid

Got my stock intake off. Need to transfer the sensor/gromet over the new lid. Its so close to the corner...it is hard to turn. Does it unscrew or do I have to pull it out? Tried to grab it with a needle nose and cracked it. any advice before I totaly screw it up?

When I did mine with a friend, we just used needle nose pliers. No real trick to it that I know of. If you end up breaking it, you'll just need to buy a new IAT sensor.

Get some pliers on the inside of it and compress it a bit so you can sqeeze it through. Once you've got enough of it through, push it with your thumb from the inside while your turning it with our other hand on the outside.

If you're still struggling with it a couple drops of liquid dishwashing soap makes it a lot easier, rinse and dry thoroughly before using.

Some of them can be a pain, be careful with it. I just push them out.

I think the designer that put the iat in that place should be shot. He must have been smoking crack. I had to completly destroy the iat to get the gromet out. But I appreciate the quick responses.

Get the Z06 85mm MAF, it's built right into it, and very easy to wire in. That is what I did with my 402.

You can remove the sensor to work only on the gromet so you don't mess it up. When I did mine I just pushed on the inside lip with my hands and it came right out.
