Default best heads for boost

I am running 8 psi on a 383 forged lt1 with stock heads. Would like to upgrade the heads to see more power. Does anybody know any heads that are good with boost? Preferably under $2,000...Is trickflow alright?? What if i port my stock lt1 heads, how will that work with boost?

The Trickflow heads are indeed a good choice for your LT1, as far as under $2,000.00 heads go. We have used them and they make good power. Bob

Would i be better of keeping stock heads and seeing more boost numbers? IS it possible to ''max out'' heads, because i feel i am close to doing it. I running 8 currently and maxing out the P1 will probably give me 12-14 psi

It is not really possible to max out heads, as you can always get more air in by running more boost. However, that being said, the more boost you run the more insufficient your exhaust side becomes. But you won't ever hit a wall where more boost won't give you more power assuming your s/c doesn't max.

Keeping your stock heads, and going up to 12psi is really the same thing as staying at 8psi but with some good heads. Either way, more air in. However I think the head/low boost combo will make much more power for a few reasons. First, as I said before, getting the exhaust out. Second, superchargers need more power the more boost you run. So while it may only take 40hp at 8psi, it's going to need 60hp at 12. Lastly, the more boost you run, the higher your IATs go.
