i was talking with erik koenig and he was saying that he had seen some problems with bigger turbo set ups and problems with the exaust lifters dropping because of the backpressure

Actually, the backpressure helps open the exhaust valve.

Erik and I spoke of the same thing when I picked up my motor.

He was worried I am running stock style lifters... but no problems yet.

I just had a Comp. R lifter come apart in my DISC motor and total my block. The lifter had about 5k miles on it and maybe 500 or so with the blower.

If your turbo setup is done correctly back pressure shouldn't be high enough to kill lifters. If that is happening I would look at possible valve float.

I had a comp stock replacement collapse on me. Just out testing one day and BAMN, my valvetrain sounded like a sewing machine and I lost power. i had a 640ish lift cam in her. Now I am running the caddy lifters and they seem to be fine.....with a smaller 590ish lift cam.

BUT.....I am switching back to the big stick, so we will see how the caddys hold up.

I have been using the Crane OEM replacements with no problems and they were cheaper than the Comps.
