Default Lazy Clutch Pedal.. Need Help.

Yeah so my clutch pedal is a little lazy and doesn't really wanna come back up whenever I shift. 1st-2nd is good.. But 2nd-3rd, and so on aren't really all that great. I bled my clutch today and also changed out the fluids and still nothing. What should I try next? My Dad told me I should probably replace the slave cylinder. Has anyone replaced it? If so.. How hard is it to replace. Oh yeah, It's to my 2000 Firehawk if it helps any. Thanks for the help, Ryan.

Haha.. And just how hard is it to get the transmission out? I have never taken a transmission out of anything.. But my Dad has replaced plenty but I'm sure he wouldn't wanna mess with my car.

how hard are you running the motor when its doing this? are you racing or getting on it shifting at like 5800 or just cruising? and has the clutch ever been replaced before.... mine did this and it was the pressure plate that was causing it and that was after i did what everyone on this board tells you to do.... drill mod new master and slave.... and it was the pressure plate.. fixed it with an exedy hypersingle from my z06 clutch

I just got the car about 3 weeks ago. So I don't know if the clutch has ever been replaced. It doesn't act up while I'm cruising.. Just when I get on it and shift around 5500. Other then that, it's good.

I'm thinking about replacing the slave cylinder hopefully next week.. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully I won't go and spend $130+ on a slave cylinder for nothing.

Yeah well maybe I'll check that out. I talked to my Dad and told him there is a chance it may be the pressure plate and he told me if were going to replace that we might as well replace the whole clutch. I'm not gonna lie, If it bothers me enough I'm just going to have my transmission fully built! That way I won't have any future problems with it!

I don't know what to do. I'm fresh out of high school and I don't have much money to play with so I don't know. It shifts fine and everything, but when I get on it like when I'm racing, it won't let me put it into gear or anything.. That and also the clutch pedal will stay down.

Dont listen to these guys. You need a new rear syncro bearing and aligner mechanism. Typical for these cars.

Well if you want. I was gonna say $4.5K but if you wanna pay $5K then thats okay lol. Yeah right, My Dad would kill me. He told me I better keep this car. It's the last one he's going to have under his insurance. All I pay is $137 every 6 months for liability!

Dude... a LOT of us have had this same problem. Get an LS7 clutch kit from SDPC for $399, a new GM 2001+ slave cylinder, and a slave spacer from Speed Inc. and call it good. This fixed my problems after struggling with all the other BS for over two years. Trust me... you don't wanna have to keep pulling the tranny to try something different.
