It depends on which Nodular and which Alloy case you are questioning.

I know of a couple of alloy cases that are stronger than the Nodular offerings. I also know that there are some Nodular cases that are much stronger than others.

I'd like to know also. When I got my 9", I bought a Strange Pro Nodular case just to be sure. My car is a street/strip car and I only wanted to do this once. I herd the aluminum cases where more used for drag racing use only and after time makes the gears and bearings wear out quicker.

I bought the Strange pro case with mine. If I had the money, I'd have went with the Moser pro case since its the strongest of all the aluminum cases. The Strange case I got is a very high quality piece and I doubt I'll ever have any problems with it. If you go with a locker and 35 spline axles, you'll have to grind the rear pinion bearing support to clear the differential case, no big deal really. I'd stay away from the "S" series case and the Strange aluminum case. The "S" series case isnt near as heavy as the pro cae and the aluminum Strange doesnt look to have near the material that the Moser does. Next fall I plan on selling my center section and building a Moser aluminum one. The guy I bought my parts from is running a Moser aluminum case and says he has no problems. Doesnt really mean squat too you but I'd go for it.

Well... actually, the Mark Williams Thru bolt alloy case is the strongest. Or every single car in NHRA Pro-Stock wouldnt be running one.

Look into the Strange Investment cast steel 3rd members... lighter than iron stronger as well little heaver than aluminum

How much rwhp are you looking to put to it. The Moser alum case is more than likely going to handle anything you throw at it. Bob

Yup. There are a few cast steel cases currently out right now... and its good strength to weight ratio makes it an affordable option.

Ford was the first and its finished product is impressive. It is lighter than the Nodular cases available and very little over that of an alloy in comparison.
