Drag Racing Results - New Best with Stock Internals - 11.421 @ 116.24 (1.47 60 ft)

Bill & I took my car out to US 41 Dragway today because the DA was around -600, and we just couldn't pass up that good of air. I set a new personal best, and am pretty happy with it (for once)

Best E.T. & MPH - 11.42 @ 116.24
Best 60ft: 1.47

I made several passes today and all of them were around the same. My goal was to get a 11.4X and at least a 1.4X 60ft. The car is coming out of the hole really good, but it seems to be losing some on the big end. It will be going back on the dyno in two weeks when I swap over to a 85mm lid and 85mm MAF to make sure everything is the way it should be. I probably won't be able to hit the track again until next year, but I am happy with how the car sits now.

I want to thank Vince & Chuck at Finishline Trans for building me one hell of a 4l60e, the guys at Straightline Performance for all of the labor I couldn't tackle on my own, WickedLS1 for the new rear end, and certainly the most important person, Bill (ONEBADWS6) for all of the help throughout the year getting the car to where it is now in only a few months.

Next year should be very interesting...

congrats matt your car has really come along...if you got a dyno free do a base run with the car the way it sits just to see what the gain is from the 85mm lid and maf...just for curiousity sake...i am sure many people would love to see the results...i will send the pictures of the rear calipers when i pull off them rims tomorrow...

Give me a week or two, and then we can start tearing into yours. Work is going to be crazy busy for me next week and the only day off I will have is Thursday. We will get her nice and light for the '08 season :D

Thanks John. That is with a 3.73 gear in another 10 bolt, and the same 26" tall, 8" tread width ET Drags. :)

Thanks Derek. It has been a very trying year to say the least, with plenty of broken parts, too much down time on the car, and a lot of hurt feelings. Luckily Bill and I have been down this road before with my other car, both of his, and we weren't afraid to try a few new things that no one had done before. I am glad it ended on a positive note with new bests for a lot of people today.

I plan on definitely doing the Joliet NMCA Superbowl race, but as far as the other ones go, I am not sure. It all depends on my work and how busy we are. I will be running the Pro E.T. bracket class & Top Sportsman at Route 66 all next year for sure though.

My plans are to take more weight out (heat, passenger airbag, ABS, & door bars) and then do some more lightweight parts (drag brakes, k-member & a-arms, electric water pump, speed glass, and lightweight battery). I might also change the converter out. I am seeing 12% slip out of it. After that, who knows. Probably cam & spray, along with a 10 point cage.

Eh, just a few changes in store.

I am more concerned about getting all of the weight out & a good tune before I do anything else. I will more than likely be running the 11.50 index for NMCA until I can get a roll cage put in.

great times Matt - it seems that gear change increased your converter efficiency from 15% to 12%

that's pretty sweet for such a small increase in gear!

congrats. i already can't wait to see what the '08 season holds for everyone.

Thanks Bryan. Looking back, I was actually seeing 18% slip with the 3.42s. If something happens to the 3.73s I have now, I will be throwing in 3.90s to see if I can tighten it up some more. I would like to keep it on the 26" tall tires.

awesome!

3.90's are on back-order until december... but by the time you need them, it should be all good.

No shit? I should have stayed, but I figured it wouldn't get any better. Plus, I was frozen and my co-pilot wanted to go home to his mommy

Yea i felt the same, cold as Alaska.Yea he made a pass was like 11.70 so he got pissed then went down again and ran the 11.57 and we were happy, but i said are you gonna wait a while longer and try again, and he said NO!!!! He was happy with that. Then he said Matt might of run a 11.30 somthing if he stayed. The left lane was actually getting stickier after you left.I think my tranny might just be beginning to slip, because the DA was around 400 ft better than last saturday,i should of gone a low 10.50 at least!

Yeah that's great for him, sucks for me. Oh well, there will always be the start of next season. I should be around 100lbs lighter, and have a little more power out of the new intake/MAF setup & better tune.
