i have a 01 z28 radio went on lock after header install.already did the search and tried the 1-800# and it said to press 1 for chevy so i did that but then nothing would happen and the recording would say out of time.now im starting to get very fustrated.does anyone know the code or something else i could do?please help before i end up breaking the motherf---er.thanks

If someone put their own pin number in it might be hard to figure out. Like their phone number or kid's birthday. Last 4 digits of SSN, etc. You will probably have to take it to a dealer. Do you have any idea who owned the car before? If you bought it from a dealer maybe they can put you in touch. I don't think there are any simple solutions. You find the code or hope the dealer can reset it with factory info. Ever think about getting another radio/CD? Now could be the time.

if you really want that thing working take it to the dealer, looks like you already tried everything the guys suggested, I got mine reset for free.
