fun car.

Sweet looking setup. Are you planning to put more boost to it?

That's going to be crazy on nitrous and boost. It'll be even more interesting when you crank it up.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The short answer on the boost is, I'm not sure.

I really want to, but I've yet to run the motor on the bottle yet. It's a 100 shot set up from HSW.

Worried about the lower half behaving itself since its all stock presently.

South Coast Speed and Sound makes the gauges and A pillars. Owner's name is Abo. Great guy who's real sharp and has an eye for doing stuff right.

Not cheap though. $1900 bucks to do the car that way. (sting!)

Here's the motor in detail in case anyone else gets the itch:

Car:

2004 LS1 GTO w/ Auto 4 spd.

Engine:

Magnuson LS2 112H supercharger, stock ratios.
Lingenfelter CNC ported LS1 cylinder heads. 2.02I/1.57X valves
Comp 921 springs and titanium retainers.
JESEL sportsman 1.7:1 shaft rockers
LS7 lifters
Manley hardened one piece pushrods.
Scooter's Performance Carbon Fiber valve covers
MSD coil packs
MSD wires
TR6 plugs @ .038"
Mezeire electric H2O pump
ATI super dampener (F body model, NOT GTO one)
Kooks 1.875/3.0 headers
Borla Cat back
Lingenfelter GT2-3 camshaft
Kinetics timing chain
I reworked my stock oil pump myself.
Pinned crankshaft
HSW 100 wet shot
HSW stand alone fuel system
GZ Performance Vacuum pump (more on this later)
Snow Performance Meth injection (still in the boxes)

Chassis:

Wilwood Big Brake Kit
Driveshaft shop 1 piece alloy rated to 600hp

Left to do:

Tranny
Pedders/Nol Tec bushings
Widen stock wheels in back
Cowl Hood
TUNES!
Re plumb all the rubber hoses in SS hardline. (bling a ding ding)

The vac pump:

The GZ pump is a great piece. Top quality everywhere.

It also was never meant for a Maggied LS engine. Took a little money and a little creativity, but it will work.

The Maggie comes with a C-5/C-6 (not sure which one) belt tensioner. The pump gets in the way so you must change out to a rigid tensioner. I used a "Speed Inc." one cause Katech told me I was a fool to do this.

(been working fine for last 1600 miles)

The bushings from the Maggie tensioner have to be saved. You need to buy a bolt and washer from Napa or where ever. 10mm X 30mm long 1.5 pitch if memory serves me right.

The upper support bracket gets flipped around and the bushings make up the difference.

Belt is a Gates and measures 104.625 in length. A 104.25 would be better I think.

Was told that Gatorback belts stretch worse than others. This was from the dyno shop that tuned the car.

I had to go to an SD tune for awhile cause at 4lbs I was pegging the stock MAF on cold nights. I now have an LPE MAF good to 1200hp. (so I'm told anyways)

Rocky Mountain Competition Research in Colo Springs did the tune. Mark is a good **** who lives in a black and white world. I liked him immediately.

Not much more to tell I guess.

I'd like to step the boost up to about 9lbs and see what happens. Just hoping I don't have to start ripping the fuel system apart to upgrade it. I've already swapped pumps and I'm not in any hurry to do it again.

Again, thanks for the remarks guys. So far so good.

I'm back in Iraq till this spring, so the car is parked for awhile.

Can't wait for summer!

Here's one last one of the gauges at night. They don't match the OEM light colors, but oh well. Can't have everything I guess.

Actually, with the 160F stat, I have problems getting the motor to make heat.

Meziere pump is 50 gpm regardless of rpm.

I imagine we'll know for sure next summer, but for now it's been great.

We hit some low 80's back home in SD last month, so I was able to see what the car'd do in warm weather.

So far so good.

I really like how you integrated the vacuum pump into the blower bracketry. That looks awesome and is rather Macgyverish.
