Need help quick - security light cut off the fuel pump
I went out to start up my car and the security light came on and the car doesn't turn over at all. At least its still in the garage and not on the road.
What could cause this and how to bypass??

I would suspect that you may have broken the wires in the dash that connect to the ignition switch. I had a 1989 FOrmula do this to me....parked in a fire lane. I found that GM used about 26 gauge wire to connect to the contacts in the ignition switch (to read the resistor pellet in the key) and as you turn the ignition, they flex back and fourth....eventually, they tend to break off. I used a volt meter to read the resistance of my ignition key and found the 2 wires running down the steering column (on the 1989, they were 2 small, yellow leads that had a 2 pin connector just above the middle of the steering column). I simply jumpered a 1/4 watt resistor across those leads, put the dash back together and drove the car. After you do that, you can use regular ignition keys, instead of the resistor version. Just my experience, I hope it helps you out!

I appreciate the reply. I think it's the ignition cylinder. If not, I will just turn off vats with ls1 edit to at least start it.
