is it normal for my trans to not lock up when its cold? Once its warm it locks up fine, just the first 10 minuets or so of driving it wont lock up.

Stock tranny with stock converter? Yes it is normal, the factory settings won't let the converter lock until it reaches operating temperature. Not sure what temp that is though.

That's right... consider that to be proper and normal operation. Torque Converter clutch lock-up is inhibited until the transmission is up to operating temp.

Yes it is normal. With the colder weather this time of the year, this question always seems to come up. Not to worry you trans is fine.

Not the outside temp the engine temp has to be around 130- 140 before the PCM will allow lock up

Yup its normal.. I DD my car and using HPT I verified.. my 01 starts to go into Lockup when the trans reaches around 75*F and the engine reaches around 140*F.

140* and it will lock unless it was tuned to lock up at a lower temp wich wouldnt be good. So yes it is normal
