Default Not going into 5th

Would the clutch engaging at the very top of the pedal travel cause the tranny not to go into 5th?? The tranny will easily go into every other gear, but I am pretty sure the clutch is not fully engaging. I need to do the adjustable MC. The shifter feels like it wants to go into 5th, but doesn't make it all the way up there. It's almost like the shifter cant travel far enough forward to go into 5th. Any suggestions?? Oh, I just did an a4 to m6 swap. it has a pro 5.0 shifter, spec 3 clutch, '01 master and slave. drill mod has been done.

I had the exact same problem recently, but it was due to the 5/6 drive gear rocking on the mainshaft. The splines had worn out after 105K miles of lugging it around. Unfortunately, the only way to tell for sure is to rip the trans out of the car and open it up.

But it goes into 6th perfectly, not a problem at all. Anyone else?

Could the adjustable stops cause it not to go into 5th? It almost gets there, but never goes in or grinds so i know its not the synchro.

Yep, exactly the experience I had. 6th was never an issue.

The guy I got the tranny from said he brought the adjustment bolts on the shifter in closer the last time he was at the track. Im gonna back them out a little and see if that fixes it. Need to make the master adjustable too.

Let us know....could definitely be the stops. What clutch are you running, and how long how you had it?
