gotta ask.............
I searched and nowhere in the stickies could I find it.
I spoke to OFI today but forgot to ask this.
Is there a chart of some sort that will tell you what cubic inches you need to match perfectly to a certain sized turbo? There's probably more to it than just ci and a certain turbo, right?
For example: if you use an S91, what cubic inches would you use to have the best efficiency?
ALSO....is there a chart that tells you how much HP each different sized turbo can max out at?
I'm curious about the S91 and the 101mm sizes. OFI told me today they are working on making a 101mm fit with their current kit, if they do I'll get their kit because it retains A/C. I can do the S91 for now until it happens.

Dude, there are so many variables to all of this. Sometimes the same sized turbos make different power.
The reason you don't see a chart for CI to turbo size is because of the different variables... Hell, you can put a S91 on a 427 and on a 370... What you'll be able to get out of it depends on your cam, how high you rev, backpressure, etc.
I'm just scratching the surface here... The answer to what turbo for what size motor: Experience.
I don't even know why I responded I'm now subscribing for non-educational purposes

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm having a forged 408 built with 9:1 compression and L92 heads. And wanting to do like a twin GT45 (66mm) setup off of truck manifolds, and was just wondering if that was enough, or too much turbo. Thanks

OFI wants to use our new FI91X which goes to 100mm and using all new ETT wheels. The S91 will be a good bit smaller though then the FI-X series. Keep your eyes peeled this week, since I think pictures of new 91-100mm FI-X units will be posted.

The GT45's are laggy since they use a big turbine wheel and also are 1.08A/R units.

Besides, I'll probably get more useless posts then helpful ones.

My builder said he wants to build me a 408 with my LSX, or a 422 at the biggest if I'm gonna use a turbo.

I just want the largest turbo that the OFI kit will handle. I was told today by OFI that the S91 will make 1,575 fwhp. I want to know what a 100 or 101mm will make.

Magical question is....will it fit with the OFI single turbo kit? Do you know if the dimensions will be the same or smaller than the S91?

I just need to know if it'll work with the current OFI turbo kit?
If it will I'll get the OFI kit ordered right now and wait till the FI-98X comes out.

some info on a gt42, the s91 uses the same casing http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...2_731376_2.htm
some info on a gt55 which FI says there new FIXX thumpers will be using http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...3_752052-9.htm

Yes the S91 is smaller and closer to a GT42 chassis. The FI-X chassis is closer to the GT55 which is larger overall. As for fitting on a OFI kit, that would be up to Joel. These units spool much quicker then the larger thumpers, and put down awesome numbers.

My car has been my DD since I bought it in 1998. It's not going to be anymore. I will drive it maybe 1-2 days a week after I set it up this way. I'm buying a new car in a couple weeks that'll be my new DD.
I want this car to be a show car with huge power.
