Default Need Help - Looking to purchase a water to air intercooler!

Hello,

I've been a lurker for a while now.. I'm trying to help a buddy find a place to build a custom water to air intercooler for his Drag Car. Does anyone recommend a place?

Thanks!

3 3/4 W

11 5/8 L

7 3/8 H

4" In/Out

1" Water Fittings

Paid $1500 a piece from Precision. They were custom made for a Truck project I was working on... They are nice and compact and still able to support some serious power.

$1000 a piece.

There are plenty of cheap Chinese knockoffs on ebay. Most definitely not Precision quality.

I can take pictures for anyone interested.

Thanks. They are sitting here. Someone's gonna get a great deal! If anyone is planning on running it in a racecar, I can build an ice tank on top like Ive done on numerous 7 and 8 second cars.

I had a custom unit fab'ed up at Bell intercoolers by Gerhardt. It was built to all my custom dimensions and included mounting tabs. The price wasn't bad either, considering the size and uniqueness. I'd definitely use them again.

I was checking out a few forums yesterday and stumbled upon a company called Extreme Turbo Systems. They built an intercooler for a supra that makes over 1600hp. Check out this intercooler.

Advice: Don't ever buy or make an IC that has thin wall bends welded to it. You will grow to regret it in the future when you accidentally smash one removing/installing it down the road.

Ill take some tomorrow morning. I can build an ice tank on top of the intercooler. I've been doing it for years on the racecar, and now Skinny Kid is selling a kit for you to weld onto your pre-existing cooler.

I'll take some pics of a few I've done... Including the first "Frankentank!!!"

lol

mine came from chiseled performance. they use the new garrett cores that are extremely efficient. great prices too. my custom water tank that fits in the spare tire compartment (6.5 gal) was only $190.
