Debating over LS6 Manifold...
Hey guys (and gals).
I am content with the power my LS1 puts out. It is also my DD, and I don't think I'll ever go into the internals... Unless the engine prematurely fails and I need a rebuild. I would have bought a lest prestige Camaro if modding it was my main goal.
Anyways, my bolt-ons are just Pacesetter LT headers, TSP true dual exhaust w dynomax bullet mufflers (done by previous owner) and a MTI CF Lid. The LS6 intake manifold, if I do it, will be the last engine mod (I don't want to do UD puller etc.)
I'm just debating if, for my case, if it would be worth the 450 or so dollars - (would get the SLP w/ EGR). Is the power increase that decent for a stock (internal) LS1?
I dono, I am just on the fence, and don't want to mess anything up. I guess I am looking for fellow LS1 owners insight, as it may help where my mind is pondering. I plan on getting the car dyno tuned afterwards (or before if I don't do the intake anyways) just because I think it has a stock tune with the new exhaust and it seems to be running a tad rich.

I put the slp w/ EGR LS6 manifold on my car and it definitely felt better in the top end. I only spent around 300 and i bought it used off this site. Look around, there are deals out there...

its a good bolt on... one that about anyone with the money gets.... because if your a true fan of cars and engines it wont be your last upgrade... and in the end you will need it to compliment the other bolt ons...

I see it as if this is the "last" mod you want to do, then go for it. I would say do a cam instead, but if you don't really want to get that deep into the engine the LS6 is the next best thing. Gears would be good to but i would hate to recommend some 4.10s and then the stock 10-bolt takes a **** on you. So in my opinion the LS6 is a really good mod for an LS1.

I'm pretty content with the power it has right now.
I'm still in college BTW, and I work a lot and make god money all the same, but I don't think I'll be modding the engine at all from where it is right now.
It is in such nice condition, a medium metallic blue with less than 30k on it. I just want to drive it and maintain it really. I think I might pass.
If/when I get another Z28/SS, I'd get one that is less "cherry" I guess, and thus messing around with the engine would be fine with me... and this would be when I'm out of college etc etc.

You can buy the EGR adaptor and install it in an OEM manifold yourself. I think that Lingenfelter sells them for like 50 bucks (Don't quote me on that). I have an LS6 sitting in my garage waiting to get installed, once I get my clutch issues worked out. I am anxiously waiting to get that manifold on.
