Default Profesional Products 85MM Polished Intake Install

I am going to be installing this tomorrow along with the 85MM polished throttle body. I have read a lot of mixed reviews on this intake. I hope it works out well for me though.

Anyone have any advice on installing it other than the usual intake advice?

I will post pictures tomorrow after the install if it goes well!

Here are a couple pictures for you before the install. I have not finished polishing the throttle body yet.

Edit: Here is one with the fuel rails mocked up.

I'd make sure that you have the new gaskets that they have for the install. They need to have the extra holes for the small head bolts. If not you are in for a nice intake leak that you can't find, that's why I switched to a LS6 intake

Do I have to replace the coolant lines with this intake? Since this is a 2k?

Yes, it doesn't clear. You need the plugs for the rear and the ls6 coolant line. Also I remember some of their gaskets were not think enough and you had to grind down the valley cover bolts.

I installed with without moving any of the coolant lines. It seams to have seated well. I will find out tomorrow when I fire it up! All I have left to do is put on the throttle body and hook up a few connections.

I will post pics of the install and the finished product tomorrow.

I also had no issue with the coolant line when I did my install. I hope that when you set the intake down you didn't slid it around. I made this mistake and it pulled the gasket over the number 7 and 8 intake runners a little.

I used some gasket silicone to keep it place. So it is on pretty nice. The only issue I am having right now is that when I hooked up the supplied fuel line extension I do not have enough room to insert the fuel line disconnect tool now.

Well, my brother and I finished the intake, fuel rail, and throttle body install this morning. We have about 4.5 hour into it. We took it really slow since there was not a lot written about installing this intake.

Over all the install went really smooth. I did NOT have to remove my stock 2000 LS1 coolant lines. Everything fit great. Here are some pictures during the install and when it was finished. I need to re-polish the intake and throttle body again though. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Here is the engine bay before we started.

Engine bay with everything removed.

My brothers skinny *** in the engine bay. He is doing some cleaning.

The intake beginning to get installed.

The intake, fuel rails, and throttle body all installed.

I went from the LS1 to the Prfessional Products intake. I test drove it a little bit here. I didnt get on it much since it is raining and 50 degrees outside. From Idle - 3k RPMs I can not tell any difference yet. But once I hit that 3k RPM mark it feels like a different monster. I was merging onto the highway and just kind of got on it in 3rd gear at about 50 and it broke right loose. Mind you the road was wet but I can not recall if my car would do this prior.

I am having a Patrick G custom cam installed by EPP in the beginning of January so I will have some dyno numbers to show you guys with this combo.

Well PP must have gotten everything worked out now. They told me that they were switching gaskets to make it so there was not any sealing issues. Glad to see everything has worked out.
