My brother just bought a 1979 Firebird with a '71 350 LeMans engine(automatic). The previous owner thinks the LeMans engine has about 80,000 on it. The car was stripped of any non-essential under-hood parts. The car will be run on street tires (fat back tires, skinny fronts). What is your E.T. prediction?

I'm guessing mid 16's @ 85 mph.

If the 'bird kept it's cats, mid 16s. If you ditched the cats and did even minor mods like headers, edelbrock carb/intake then you'll probably see high fifteens.
Of course, I'm assuming TH400. That LeMans probably had a TH350 so maybe very low 16s would
be more likely. BTW, your brother should have bought my '78 instead. :P

I'll go with 15.5 as long as it's a 4bbl and at least 3.XX gear.

Its a tank, low 16's because the 71 is a low compression dog.
