Default ls1 in a 57 pickup

New to this type of job,the engine is a 97 vette ls1 do i need to keep all the smog and other epa stuff or can i block it off.My ecm is getting re-programed any other info whould be great:

Depends on the registration requirements in your State but you can have all of those and more programed out of your PCM.

Many states of "historic" vehicle registration. Meaning that if your car/truck is over a certain amount of years old, it doesn't require inspection. Check with your local laws and your question will probably be answered.

here in texas if the vehicle is older than 25yrs it doesn't require emissions
