Automatic Transmission - TCI OR MIDWEST?

Ok, I have been reading all the posts on tc's, and thanks for all the info. I have decided to go w/ a 3000 stall from TCI or Midwest. The TCI comes w/ a 2.2str and the Midwest w/ a 2.65str. Beyond that they seem to be the same. I have basic bolt-on's and bfg kdw tires on 17's. One sponsor told me that the 2.65 str is more efficient than the 2.2. But I am worried about traction, is the 2.65 too much? Or is the difference small enough that the increased efficiency will pay off. Any opinions are greatly appreciated,

I think youll be happy with the TCI or the midwest the TCI is alittle more street friendly with the smaller stater, wont hit the tires as hard as the midwest. I run nittos on my car and i have no problem blazing the tires from a role let alone a complete stop. One thing though I do wish they had the super streetfighter out whem I bought mine a long while back but they just staterted to produce them and I didnt want to wait, I would surely get the 3500 stall if I were you I think it has the same stater as its smaller brother or close to it, And youll be happier. The street racer is the most common customer. If I had to recommend a stall for a LS1, it would be a TCI 3500 Super Streetfighter. The converter will do great in a street application, in racing (with drag radials) and in drivablity. If you get a TCI 3500 just get a good set of drag radials. :cool:

FWIW, Colonel posted excellent 60' times from the TCI 3500 that he has. I would get the same thing if going with a TCI.

I love mt TCI SSF 3500. I really need to order some drag radials. Its mean out of the hole. The torque curve is wicked on the dyno. Excellent daily driver converter. Probably could of went to a 3800. I will be getting track times soon but I have to wait till I get some E.T. Strets.

I have a 3200 Midwest and I love it...I have a 2.5 str, and Midwest has a 2yr warranty, and a free re-stall.

TCI is cheap and has held up to numerous N2O runs without any problems for about 2 years now.

post up some 60 foot times if you have the tci or midwest.

90* weather here with Nitto DR's I pull 1.7's with a best of 1.71 60' on a TCI SSF 3500 w/2.5 str. ;) Only suspension mods I have are BMR LCA's with relocation brackets oh and my car is lowered 1.5". :)
