Default Question about a subwoofer and Amp?

OK I have an Alpine MRD-M501 Amp. It is rated at 550Wx1 at 2 Ohms and 275Wx1 at 4 Ohms. I was looking for a 10" sub to go into a stealth box and I was looking at the Alpine Type R subs. Which one of these subs do I need to go with this amp?

the swr-1042d
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...&lang=en&tab=F
or the swr-1022d
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...odel=SWR-1022D
thanks for the help.

ok that's what I thought... but my only concern is that the amp is rated at 550W RMS at 2 Ohms. Is that two much for the sub or will it handle it? Also are there any other good subs out there that fit my needs and the price range?

The Type-R is rated at 500watts rms so it should match your amps power pretty closely.

OK thanks for the help I really want a good SQ setup though and from what I've heard the type R's aren't the best. Do you have any recommendations on some other brands that are close to the type R rating?

There are several but in that price range I'd recommend the RE Audio SE10, Image Dynamics IDQ-10D4, and of course I have to throw the CDT EF-100 sub in there because it does well for sound quality setups. It is not a SPL sub though. It is also $50.00 cheaper than the others.
I also liked the TC Sounds subs which are now Audio Pulse it looks like. The EPIC subwoofer looks like a winner for SQ but I haven't heard it so I am going strictly by numbers on that. I am not sure on pricing on this sub either.
