..looking at v6-ls1 converted car
ok guys..first let me say I have a v6 firebird..looked..researched..and researched more about doing a swap..I was going to do it. I ran into a guy that has a 2000 firebird with an LS1 swapped motor and has blown the tranny.. the guy had a kid..and motor hasnt been fired in almost a year. The mods are small cam, little port/polish head work.
have not looked at the car..(checking it out wed.)
anything i need to look for specifically..i do have hptuners pro, and can run a scan on this car, can i learn alot by JUST an idle/rev scan?

so the car you are going to look at was a v6 and the guy swapped in a ls1 right
if that is the case look at the wiring on the relay side make sure there is no hacking and splicing if its quality work i would seriously consider it. ask him a lot of questions about the swap how he did it did he pay somone to do it,
you just gonna sell your car if you get this or use one for parts or what??

i will not buy the car without hearing it run..worst case scenario..i will go buy some oil, change the oil myself. Examine the old oil, pull a valve cover, rent a compression tester, and check the compression...fire it up..and scan it with HPTUNERS

does anyone know on a 2000 to 2001 swap, do any wires have to be jumped from the wiring harness? because i know if i bought a 98 ls for my 98 car, i wasnt gonna have to do it, but with an 00-02 PCM. Curious to know if that portion was a direct swap on a 2000 v6 car to a 01 LS1. thanks guys...going to look at the car this evening!
