cam and rod bearing q's
i am getting ready to drop a lq4 in soon .....having the block tanked and hoaned so everything is clean and fresh cylinder walls.......during dissassembly everything was in great shape....i could tell previous owner worked truck hard and didnt use premium oil.......
i have to replace the cam bearings due to having the motor hot tanked....even though all the bearings looked great 60,000mi it has factory dish pistons that i am going to keep......should i replace the rod bearings and the rings?????....or is this something i should ask the guys that have the engine at the machine shop????
plan on running 9.5.1 or so with 9-12psi boost will this be good to do?
thanks guys

Don't even think about using the same rings or bearings. For $200-300 it's not even worth it. The rings would never work with a new hone job. Buy new parts, you will have a new motor. Used parts you will have a smoker that knocks.
