Local ATV Riding Areas!
Whats up Houston! Anybody own a wheeler? Where do you all ride around this area? I can only find places 80+ miles away.

I have been doing well. Wife Baby House.... Etc..... Had to go buy a Wheeler so I could have some fun again for a change. Wife would not let me have another car, (well at least no money to put into it) which is no fun. What have you been up to?

Got a Raptor haven't rode in a while as I have been working A LOT lol! I used to make the trip to Spring creek like Big Bronco said and I have been to the National Forest in Huntsville a couple of times, but I need the day to do that etc... Hit me up if you want to try it some time.

I go to my buddys and we ride a pipe line or i just tresspass and ride on a samnd pit that leads to a river that i hear is a off duty police officer that will bust you. I still have not been busted so i think it is a old thing they dont do anymore.
My big bear needs a oil change anyways. You are way too far away from me to ride.

Shiloh ridge has everything you’ll be looking for. 1000+ acres of Hills, mud, sand, trails, creeks, food, showers, scheduled events, etc.
I live about 4 miles from the ridge and have been riding there for years its a good place to ride, no matter what your level of riding is... beginner or expert.
BUT...
Do use caution when riding, I've seen a number of people lifted out to the hospital by helicopter or even die.
And remember... If you’re going up a hill and you don't make it and you start rolling back down... JUMP OFF and let the four wheeler go! Don't try and save it!! Or ride it down backwards. I've seen too many people get badly hurt that way.
Oh, and don't ride off alone or get ahead of the group, for safety reasons.
If anyone comes up and wants to ride send me a pm.

shiloh ridge is the freakin ****. i have been there twice and loved it. see some crazy rides out there in both the truck and atv worlds.
haven't checked out general sam's yet but lived next door to the owner in college station last year and he said that he has been getting a lot of business...more than expected.
sam houston state park is kind of fun at times. but once again these places are all north of you at least an hour or so. shiloh ridge would be well worth it if you got a group together. i dont have anything crazy, just a 92 sport 250x honda and a 01 ish 2wd rancher, but i still have fun!

Me and a couple buddies ride our dirt bikes up in New Waverly at the Sam Houston State Park. There are tons of trails (some even 50miles long if you make a wrong turn ), but its probably going to be a bit of a hike for you.

The place in crosby is pretty good if you're looking for mud... not so great for sport quads.
This is pictures from there... place is called Mel's if I remember correctly.

I liked spring creek the best... but the threat of getting in trouble for touching the water kinda kills the fun... especially when you gotta float a sport quad across I just don't know the area enough to ride around without crossing the water... seems so limited if you don't.
