Don't know what's going on, but the temp gauge going to zero sounds like the ECT sensor isn't hooked up, or the wiring/connector was damaged during the install. PCM uses the ECT for several things, did they check for any codes?

Yeah, maybe that sensor wire was disconnected in order to have more room for the install. Could be that sensor wire got burnt by that primary too.

Good luck.

If they didn't route your wiring right, you may have melted through your O2 wires. Could be the problem with your temp sensor too, its pretty close to the headers.

P0118 is an ECT sensor code...start there first and get the PCM to see the correct temp, and get the gauge working. Then look at the 02 sensor wiring.

Your O2 wires being fried will make your car act like that. The way the wires are routed makes it easy to fry them when you have long tubes, whoever put them on should have moved them out of the way. If it is an O2, its not that hard of a fix, but I would be asking the installer to do it since he screwed it up.

The ECT sensor is on the driver side right by the header. My guess is something is faulty there as already mentioned.

I would also make sure all the plug wires are all the way on the plugs.

not having a tune wouldn't make it run like that, i installed headers on my auto and it ran with no problems what so ever, like they said, check the plug wires, make sure the O2 extensions are run where they aren't melting on the headers and check that sensor....this is why i do all my own work...can never trust other ppl with ur car man.
