Will the factory alarm still work once the factory deck is removed? If memory serves me correct you program it throught the factory deck. Does the alarm brains reside in the deck or will it still function as always once it is replaced?

I did a search, but must admitt I was unsure what to search for.

I just swapped my deck, did nothing. Alarm works just fine. I did not even think about that when I did it. From what I understand the alarm is a part of the body control module and has nothing to do with the stock receiver.

everything will work fine after. you are thinking of the theft deterrent in the head unit. that is just for if someone stels the headunit, they cant use it in another car....
