A/C Fitment: '68 Camaro LS1 Conversion
Ok. 1968 Camaro. LS1/T56 conversion. I already searched so don't go off on me! I'm wondering if anyone on here who has the LS1 conversion Hooker headers and mounts used the factory A/C equipment. Were there any fitment issues with the compressor? Could anyone post pics of how they mounted the HVAC box and any mods they had to do? It's my understanding that the Hooker mounts set the engine further back... While im at it, hows the oil pan fit with this set up? Thanks.

How is that? There are plenty of people on here with LS1 conversions that are running stock equipment. What I've read so far is that all it requires is a relocation of the compressor, or an aftermarket compressor... Are the A/C compressors on the trucks up high? If so, couldn't the compressor just be relocated to the truck location? Someone has to have done this! ;D

I am will be doing an LS1 / t56 swap for my 70 Chevelle El Camino and so far I have learned that you need to notch the engine cross member for clearance. Once I get started, I may play around with seeing if can make my own relocation bracket.
