Default Which hood scoop insert for my SS?

I want to fill in the scoop on my SS with a black insert. Which out of these two would be the best?

http://fourthcircledesigns.com/produ...products_id=35

or

http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/camsshoodsco.html

Why such a big price difference? Is the material better on the one from Afterthoughts? Will the vinyl look good, or just alright? I don't want to drop the money on painting it yet, just want to see if I like it or not. Also, will the vinyl hold up decent for some time? All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd go with the one from fourth circle designs. I've bought from him before, and seen a lot of his work. Good quality! Plus he'll save you some $$$. I'm about to buy a scoop insert from him as well

Looks like a landing strip on a red car without other black accents IMO..

Check ebay. I picked one up when SLP was closing out their f-body parts for pretty cheap and it was the same one they used on the anniversary cars. I just never got to installing it because it didn't look right to me.

Eventually I would like to get some black ZR1's or Z06's with the polished lip. I just want something to break up all the red. So Fourth Circle Designs is the way to go? It is quite a bit cheaper.

That does look good. The gloss black looks nice with your slp grille. The one I picked up is flat black and didn't really match anything. Maybe with a flat berger tail panel.

Ah yeah I definitely see what you're saying. The flat black wouldn't match the grill...

I'm not a big fan of flat black, I've always thought gloss black looked best.

Does the one from fourth circle have a gloss to it? That is what I would want.

if your doing it in black, then get it painted, b/c black vinyl looks cheap, if you are doing it any other color then go with the afterthoughts one...

Thanks for all the help fellas. I don't want to get it painted just yet. I am going to wait and see if I like the look of it first. I have thought about the manta stripe too but don't know which will look better. I am going to try this first and see what it looks like. Probably wont have pics of it until the spring though since the car is in storage. Maybe we will get a nice day or two if we can get rid of all this snow.
