Default decals

I have 1998 firebird formula and I am putting trans am rear hatch and ws6 hood on that need matching paint, along with 30th anniversary decals. My question is should I clear coat over decals or put on-top. I have heard that clearing over decals causes peeling I don't know. How do factory vehicles come on-top or under clear coat.Help me out here give me pros and cons.THANKS

Factory stripes are generally printed on clear sheets, not clearcoat.

I would just put the graphics on and apply a few coats of Zaino

Do not clear over the decals. The decals go on top of the paint & clear. Same way from the factory.

If you bury the decal in clear it can never be fixed replaced or repaired without re-clearing your car.
