If my Pistons & rds are all the same weight do I have to balance the crank?

Default If my Pistons & rds are all the same weight do I have to balance the crank?

If I used a stock crank that is balanced, for stock pistons and rods, would i need to have the crank re-balanced for new pistons and rods if the pistons and rods all weigh within 1.5 grams of each other?

A balance job is not how close each piston/rod combo weighs, but rather you need to have the crankshaft counter weight balanced to the piston/rod combo weight. That is what a balance job is. Your new pistons/rods probably do not weigh the same as stocker, so the counter weight of the crankshaft is going to be different.

Yes, you should get the rotating assembly rebalanced as George mentioned. The purpose of a balance is to make sure the whole assembly works properly as a whole.
