ran 14.5 at 102mph
i went to the track ew months back and was very disappointed, i couldent run a better time BECAUSE I ONLY RAN ONCE AT FONTANA, california speedway. well its mostly my fault, the first time at the track and, i did a sucky burnout, my tires were still wet haha stupid me huh, ok my R/T was .606, my 60' is 2.8 and 1/8 9.7 at 80mph and 1/4 14.5 at 102mph
do u guys think i could have ran better!! im so angry i hope i would be in the 13's O and also my friend got one run in my car too, but he missed 3rd! ok his times were R/T .765, 60' 2.1, 1/8 8.989, at 69mph and his 1/4 was 15.9 at 61mph!! he rolled all the way down the track after 2nd gear, and he was keeping up with a 12sec corolla! do u guys think i would have ran 13's?? thanks o and i had all the mods in my sig except some suspension things

dont worry it takes time.
I ran about 14.5 at 105 or something my first times at the track with lid, filter, and catback. I couldnt get those all original factory tires to hook, lol
102+ mph is good for low 13s at least with a decent 60 foot.

yea thanks guys, yea my tires were still wet, so it was slipping in first and second, i was also running some bfg g force sport 255/50/16 tires i know my friend got a good 60' which was 2.1 but do u guys think my 10 bolt will handle it if i dump it at 3k rpm, well i know i have to preload the clutch but when my buddy preloaded that was the reason id dident go into 3rd!! clutch overheating, i still have to do the drill mod! i know that will help much

for every .1 off your 60's it equals .1-.2 off your E.T.
so with that trap speed and the fact you pulled a 2.8 60's you should be low 13's easy
pull a 1.8 and id say 13.2 probably better
on my old set up i was disapointed my first time out aswell. i did a 13.6 at 110 with a 2.3+ 60's. on the sam set up only change was street tires to MT dr's i did on a later date my best 12.22 at 113 with a 1.76 60's. so dont be to disapointed yet
Edit after looking at your mods with all those suspension mods you should be hooking quite well with a good launch. i wouldnt be suprised if with the wright driver and atmosphere you could do 12.9-13.0 MAYBE but in my expereience with cars never get your hopes up to much..

I'm going to be nice and tell you that my dad's caprice with a bone stock lt1 on street tires ran a 9.7 and I heard of another one tonight that ran 9.2 but he must have lied about it being stock. The point is 4000lb boat with less horsepower shouldn't be running even close to the same time as your car by the 1/8 mile. Get an automatic and some slicks

holy crap man, don't let your friend "pre-load" your clutch, you're just going to burn the **** out of it if you didn't break it already. Who in the world told you to do that??
Stock M6, you can dump from anything you want on street tires, your rear should be fine, but damn man, spinning is losing in drag racing. You should be able to just roll out of the beams to a 2.1 60 ft.
You have to TRY to take almost 3 seconds to go 60 ft!
And another tip.. don't EVER run your street tires through the water, you're not helping yourself and you're screwing it up for everyone else that goes behind you. You DON'T heat up street tires, you just clean them off. If you NEED to get them wet to even turn them over, pull around the water and BACK into the bleach box.. and if you do a burnout IN the bleachbox, the starter should come over and make you roll your window down so he can slap you.
There's GOT to be some stickies in the Drag forums for newbies to read, you should check those out!

its no big deal, i ran a
1/4m-13.71
e/t was at 103
60' was 2.3
so get that 60 down and you'll do much better
well this was when i was bone stock (lid only)
but still a better 60 will get you in the low-mid 13's
i try to feather out the clutch not dump it

I think you are the reason that Mustang GTs think they are so fast. LOL.
Keep practicing, it will get easier. You should easily be in the mid 13s and with a little effort I would guess high 12s. Get a real catback and get rid of the restrictive "flowmaster muffler". Sounds great, but waste of money. Why do you have a PP throttle body and Granatelli MAF and not an LS6 intake? Looks like you have a few mix and match parts but nothing helping your times.
Spend your money more wisely and practice.

well needless to say there was a 04 cobra there completly stock and he ran high 13's but stock! and there was an ls2 gto that i decided i was going to run against but the guy but him with the 350z and me with some gay looking civic! i ran like crap i know!! i just wanted to make sure its not the cars fault! i know my car should run low 13's, the trap also explains it. and also at the moment im gonna spend some money on new shocks and springs! im gonna pick up some springs saterday! but im also looking more towards the pacesetter LT,s setup b4 i get the intake!

I agree with Asmodeus stay out of the water box. Just spin the tires over one good time on the dry pavement to clean them. On street tires you have to slip the clutch a little if your trying any rpms or take off at idle but you have to be smooth and quick. I was just busting on ya earlier. Hang in there you'll get it. It takes ALOT of practiceoh yea you only want about 20psi in your back tires. Doesn't help much but gives you the most grip vs losing time with underinflated street tires. I only know all of this b/c I've wasted years and money trying to get good times out of street tires buying go fast parts instead of buying real go fast parts like a rearend and slicks.

i just wish they dident close down our more local and convineint track which was LACR i know i could have ran like a 100 times there in like 2 hours, but i had to drive down to fontana 70 miles away just to run the 1/4 mile, next i guess i will try bakersfeild. the funny thing was i went to fontana on a sport compact event! (= i was prettty excited to show them what an LS1 would do but failed misrably )=
