Default Do turbo blankets work?

I have been debating on running a turbo blanket but was wondering what the advantages are. I know keeping heat out of the engine bay is one. I also heard someone saying it would spool faster. Has anyone tested one back to back to see a difference in spool time.

Most of the advantage is heat. ALOT less of it under the hood.

I have one on my car that I got from Forced Inductions. My exhaust housing is very close to the plastic shroud on my fan. The blanket actually has a cut in it from the fan. There are no signs of heat damage at all. Very pleased...

Anyone know how much difference there is between a coated exh side and using a blanket? My 101 is coated and i have heard that it works very well also. My setup will be very similar to the firebirds setup..

Coating will keep you in the 800-1000 deg range coming off the housing, if its swaintech. A blanket will keep you around 300deg. BIG difference....also ours is not the cheap garbage blankets with the metal mesh liner, so they will stay together for the long haul.

ST80 will work with the T5 and the T4, but the T4 is very tight and will not cover fully, but still works.
