Thumbs up Help me pick my turbo

I need some help selecting a turbo for my car.Mods are in sig. The 383 comes out to just around 8.5-1 compression.Looking for a turbo that will put me over 800rwhp, be able to get me in the 9's at the drag strip and be able to drive home. Also still want to drive the car around, not just a drag car. With the motor being built will all forged internals not a problem with taking the car up to 6800-7000 rpms if needed and boosting 15+ psi. Not sure if i will need a t6 or t4 flanged turbo.Have been thinking about something like a sx80-sx 88 or maybe even an st-80 turbo. Not sure if either of those will put me at my goals. Thanks for the advice guys

Go for the S85, great compromise between the two. Thats what I am going with. Will give you great power down low. Either way stick with the S Series and will for sure get you in the HP range you are talking about.

96lb injectors are good for that kind of power, thats what I'm running. Between 3.5" and 4" are good size DP for the setup, I have the 3.5". this is my setup in the making with the S85 Turbo, nearly done.

Radiator in stock location, radiator came with OFI Kit, which is a Custom 3 1/2 Aluminum Radiator. A/A Intercooler was from OFI Kit as well. This setup has one of the first of the OFI kits, so fitting was not perfect which is why some mods had to be done to the kit, but overall so far I am impressed with the kit. The fuel system I got from Nasty Nate, another sponsor on this site. Stage II Race/Street Kit. http://www.nastyperformance.com/FuelSystems.html

Either way you go, I would either pm DrTurbo or call forcedinductions directly, tell him what you want in your setup and he can give you the best answer. Its all on how you want to use the car.

I also would recommend the s series turbos. The motor going into my car is also a 383 although mine is an lt1. I was torn between the s88 and s91 but after talking to jose, he assured me that the 91 spools only about 150 rpm later than the 88 so i am soing with the 91. I would also reccomend the OFI kit. The t6 kit will fit the s series and a 4 inch dp. I have been to joels shop since he is only about an hour down the road from me. He is a great guy and his work is top notch. I say go s91 and call it a day.

how could an S91 spool 150 rpms later than the S88 if they are using the same exhaust components.

Additional compressor wheel weight and added blade face drag.

Right, the exhaust wheel is not the only thing you have to get spinning.

It would perform like a dang beast....lol. But to be honest, if all your looking for is 9's in the 1/4, anything 76mm with the right exhaust side and above will get you there.
