So who else knew that you can't use valve covers as a ground
I couldn't figure out why my fuel noid was fireing when I pushed the button for the purge noid... evidently, you can't use the bolts that hold the coil brackets to the top of the valve covers as a ground for the solenoids. There was enough current flowing through the brackets that the fuel noid clicked even when I cut the positive line from the relay to the noid!

The valve covers are electrically isolated from the engine by the gaskets and the grommets on the bolts I'll admit, I didn't think about that until now, but you're absolutely right.... lol... Grounding it to the block would be fine -- valve cover, nope!

never thought of that, but i guess coils, and stuff, makes it a good idea to not ground them.
..... ummm.....
This ruins one of my plans, i was planning on weling on a AN fitting for the vac line to the TB, and then using stainless braided hose to replace the booring black rubber line...
maybe thats not a good idea...
