Ok so I'm thinking about getting a daily driver that will be good on gas but yet a fun little car. Right now my choices are between a G5 GT or a Cobalt SS.

Which one would you guys driver?? Or any other suggestions?

If I had to choose between those two, the Cobalt SS.

I would choose the Pontiac

Reasons???? I'm leaning towards the Pontiac just because I like the interior better and frankly, if I get the SS then I know I would want to mod it!

Reasons????

I don't like either vehicle, I was just choosing the Cobalt because I hate the rear of the G5.

If you're talking the SS S/C or the GT, i'd definitely get the SS.

However if you're talking about one 2.4 over another, just go with whichever is cheaper, they're the same exact car.

Turbo Cobalt SS would be my choice. I like the G6, but the new Cobalt looks like it could be a screamer.

I like the looks of the G5 GT over the regular Cobalt SS. If you're considering a S/C SS, then it's a no-brainer.

I would look at a 2 door G6 if it was me. I am not a fan at all of the 05 GT's and I have never cared once for any style of the cava.......I mean the Cobalt.

what kind of price range are you looking at?

Probably around 20K. I can get 8K trade in on my truck. If I get the Pontiac I can get brand new because I work at a Pontiac dealer and I can get it for 500 over cost. If I get a Cobalt, it will have to be used since we are not a Chevy dealer and I would have to find a used one.

If you can get employee pricing as well and can afford $20k after a $8k trade in. I see no reason not to get a G6 with the GXP package. 3.6L v6, 6-speed auto, 252 hp, and some clean lines and a nice interior.

Thats just me though. I think it would make the perfect cruising car thats meant for just driving in the city or to and from work.

I think the g5 looks better the the cobalt, that was my reason.

As a DD I wouldn't care if it was fast.. I drive my GF Corolla as much as I can and that thing is slow as hell

G5 just so people don't think your a ricer lol

I drove a standard G5 and it was pretty quick and had a nice sporty feel to it.

Sorry I should have been clearer, I can afford 20K without trading my truck, so afterwards, I would only be paying 12K. I just had them work me up a deal on a White GT G5 couple. MSRP is 20K I can get it for 17,198 and then 8K for a trade on my truck. Payments would be 218 a month. I'm trying to decide if that is what I want to do or not. The only payment I have right now is my Harley which is 206 a month. I'm on the border of getting the G5 or just putting that extra 218 a month towards the Harley and paying it off by summer time. Then maybe getting a brand new truck.

Decisions, decisions........

FYI, I would get the G5 if anything because it is CHEAP, a nice, economical car, and if I would mod it I would feel like a ricer. So I probably wouldn't do anything to it besides tinted windows and some wheels.

wait for the g8

They aren't even the same price range.

People keep saying the turbo SS but thats not out yet. Going to be a little while still before you see them. When they do I have a feeling they wont release a ton and they'll be like an ***** was when it came out. Dealers mark them up WAY too much and they are still selling llike hot cakes. In todays modern world a cheaper sport compact car with a turbo is going to sell like crazy. GM should have done that in the first place. They were suppose to make a cavalier S/C back in 02. GM said no one wanted a cheap economy car with FI. What happen? Dodge made the ***** and hit off HUGE. Another fuck up on GM's part.:ripped:

Check out a G6 GT coupe. You could get one for the same price as that G5 GT and it would have 225hp and be an all-around better vehicle with better resale.
