Default weird noise from t-56

hey guys i bought my 98 t/a m6 in october and now it seems to be making some weird noises coming form the transmission tunnel area

when i purchased the car the trans mount was broken so i replaced it with a energy suspensions poly mount

i read many thread on this and it said that i should grind the excess off and not to use the extra plate included with the mount

well i did all this and everything was fine until about a week ago

now i get the odd grinding/chattering noise and i have no idea what it is....it happens also in neutral or with the clutch pushed in if i rev it so it's not the rear

could it possibly be the mount....my car is bone stock so i don't think i broke the poly mount too

what else could it be

the car has a drivetrain warranty so if it's something in the trans i'm not to worried about it

but i was just wondering if anyone else has had something like this happen to them after a poly mount

thanks,
blake

Pilot bearing or throw out bearing. Most likely both.
