Ok im bored so I thought I would see what some other people think. In high school I loved having a big subwoofer system in my car to where I could be heard from a mile away but now I have just a small stealth set-up in my Trans Am. I still like music but the pounding bass has become less and less apealing to me. I mean I can get four 6.5" speakers and get decent bass and still sound good for what I listen to now (country, rock, and some rap). My question is would you sell the stealth setup, get good smaller speakers and get Nitrous or just keep it and spray later?

Why not do both. I used to have the huge system in an 88 Mustang and my 69 Firebird. I built several systems that were specifically built to be loud. Over the years I was more into the sound quality than just being loud. Although you can have a loud stealth set up as well. My car has several performance mods in addition to the system I have in it. TR Cam, Dynatech LT headers, Vengeance tune, 360 stall, 3:73 gears, GMMG catback, suspension, etc. Why not have the best of both worlds. I just sold a gentleman a really nice system for his 511rwhp race car. Just because it's fast doesn't mean it has to be a gutted tin can. LOL!! I like a nice balance of both.

I say keep it, your nitrous bottle can easily fit in the spare tire compartment...

KEE AUDIO, by any chance have you guys ever built a stealth encloser for a 12" sub?

Kee Audio, thanks again for the great service.

Not sure which gentleman you are referring too:lol:, but I am trying to get some good tunes to enjoy while sitting in the staging lanes or Solo2 line up.

I have had the car 9 years and the Monsoon was getting a little tired.

I know I follow a path less travelled in my goals for the car, but I like a little show and go and not just straight line either.

Kee Audio helped set me up with a reasonably light weight solution to a balanced sound system. I can not say exactly how it will sound yet, but I am confident it will be far better than stock.:D

I vote go for it all!

I voted to ditch it, but that's just me. When I bought the SS it had a big 12" Sub-woofer and an amp, and I pulled that heavy bastard out of there, sold it, and bought a kit from HSW :D!

I'm like you, I had the big system back in high school and college, but after awhile it got old. Unfortunately, in my neighborhood, a loud system like that, is just a beacon for a busted back glass and a stolen car audio setup.

I guess I'm just getting old and cranky, because now I get kind of annoyed when I'm sitting at home and I hear BOOM BOOM...BOOM BOOM...BOOM BOOM and my pictures and dishes are shaking and rattling. But I guess my neighbors get annoyed when they hear my Hooker LTs and off road y-pipe cranking up early in the morning.

Hi guys, and thank you for the kind words! Zeke, I did make 2 12" stealth enclosures but the airspace volume right now is still limited to about .7ft^3. So if you have a sub that works in that amount of airspace volume then I can make the cutout diameter work with that sub. I believe Dragonrage will be using some kind of processor or eq to make his Fi sub work in less airspace volume. The other one I made has a Pioneer 12" sub going in it that matched pretty well.

The Fi Q12 works pretty well in low volumes. I don't think I'm going to bother with Linkwitz Transform for it at this point.

That's cool! I've been noticing more and more 12" subs that work in smaller enclosures lately. The new CDT SQ model subs supposedly work in an enclosure almost the same size as the box they come in although I don't know how that would work. I've got 2 coming in January so we'll see. This also means my RE Audio SE10's will be up for grabs possibly.

Spray it! and while your at it take all the radio pieces out and just listen to the exhaust. Who needs a radio anyway. j/k

I'm about to upgrade everything in my car cause my exhaust is too damn loud going 70 on the freeway. it totally cancels out all the stock bass and sounds like crap. im going stealth box to save room
