Default tr5 or tr6?

hope this is the correct section if not mods feel free to move...

i have a quick questions about spark plugs..on thursday im doing my headers and ofcourse were going to change the spark plugs..the only question i have is should i just go ahead and use tr6..i know they are for nitrous and i might actually go the nitrous route but that might not be for a couple of months..will it matter in the car?..would it just be safer/better to use tr5?..any input would be appreciated..

TR6's will work, that's what I have in mine and I haven't used my nitrous yet.

I ran TR6s for a long time with my bolt-on car. I had nitrous, but didn't use it for a while, and when I did, it was a rare occasion. I gapped mine at .038, and I'm running them at that now with heads/cam, and the occasional N2O blast. If I never planned to use the juice, I would gap them at .045.

Running tr6's will not hurt anything at all, even if you don't run nitrous, you will be fine with the tr6's in there.

TR6's are great plugs. They also make a TR5.5 BTW.

The key thing is to figure out the gap to put it at. So between .38 and .42? is that the concensis for NA cars?

Like I said, I would be running them at .045 if I were not running the juice.

BriancWS6 is correct. TR6s at .045. I also contacted NKG tech staff and they suggested TR6s gapped at.045 for NA motors making around 400HP to the wheels. Just my $.02.
