Default Im getting good.

Awhile back when i changed my intake i posted a thread asking if it was okay to leave the oil pressure sending unit broken on my car. All of you posted i needed to change it as quick as i could and i didn't take the advice and yesterday i ended up draining 4 1/2 quarts of royal purple down the back side of my block. Needless to say this is the 6th time i have pulled the intake on a ls1 and i actually finished the job yesterday in an hour and a half and that includes going and getting new gaskets and all. Next time i will be sure to listen to you guys. Im hoping not to change it again until i get a fast combo. Just figured i would post up so someone else who breaks theirs will replace it faster than i did.

Well. since the sender is tapped directly into the oil system.. you would at the very lease have to plug it.. but why would you not want to have a oil pressure gauge working (even the bad OEM one).

2 cents...

Yeah.. it doen't ake long for the engine to evaculate the oil system. I messed once.. I miss aligned the bypass plate gasket (above the oil filter). I start the engine up.. and within 2-3 sec..had about 3+qt on the ground.!..
