Default Got new injectors, need flow test pressure?

I just got a set of 42# SVO green top injectors. My tuner will have to make a new fuel map for them and mentioned that they may be flowed at 32psi instead of the normal 42psi to arrive at the 42# rating. Does anyone know anything about this or know for sure what psi they are flowed at? Thanks

Should be rated at 43.5 psi.

Not what I heard. I have read multiple places that they flow more in the 48# area. My 39# SVOs run about 42lbs

I think the green top 42's flow 42 at 43.5 psi and around 49 at 58 psi which is was the LS engines run at. So they're 42 at 3 bar and 49 at 4 bar.

You need to find out exactly what they flow. You have two choices...(1) send them off to be cleaned and flow matched which costs about $10/injector. This will give you an exact flow rating. (2) Contact the manufacturer and ask them what the flow rating is and at what PSI they are rated. That will get you close enough for fine tuning.

Don't take a guess on this kind of thing...you need to get it right.

This is sound advice. I can't remember off the top of my head what exactly the SVO injectors are flowed at. But I do remember from a while back that the SVO injectors were not flowed ad 43.5psi like most GM injectors. I just want to get the IFR table correct so I don't have to go back in and re-do a bunch of tuning. I will get on EFILive and find out.

I was under the impression that the SVO injectors were rated at 34psi because the that was the pressure that all the Ford FI systems operated at on the pre-mod motors.

My friend had a 5.0 and the fuel pressure was set around 32-35psi.

Just checked Ford's SVO web site. They are rated at 39.5psi.

I guess we were ALL wrong.

Why not just get the part # off the injectors and then find out what they're rated at. Most of the SVO stuff is Bosch. I see their "42" lb green top injectors are flowing 45 lb/hr at 3 bar so they should still be around 49-50 lb at 4 bar. There are a lot injectors out there so getting the number off them is the safest bet.
