Default Borla vs TD (Bassani)

I was curious to see your opinions on which exhaust people would go with. I was looking into Bassani as a possibility of having a completed cat back system that goes all the way to the back of my car. I have had TSP TD's but ran into issuses with the law. So for a temporary setup i have a catback system w/ no cats (flowmaster ) hooked up to my hooker LT headers. So the question is, which should i go for.... I am looking for Price (yes i know both setups are expensive) but i am a sound guy... HP should be about the same between the two. So i wanted to hear everyone's thoughts before i did anything.

One other thing, I would get the 3" Borla and Bassani i believe with their TD setup its only 2 1/2". So with that being said, Thank you for the voting!

2.5 piping for true duals will be more than enough to flwo your power level.

I think an adjustable borla would be nice though as well...

I have Borla and LOVE it. In conjunction with a QTEC, it makes it easy to go from stealth to jerk in no time. With cats', the rasp with it open isn't to bad, and with it closed, the rasp is very subdued and I think the sound is great. I might change the I-pipe out for a 4" in the future when I redo my Y-pipe in stainless, but otherwise, I couldn't be happier.

as long as you run cats you'll be very happy with the borla. It is the most distinctive sounding catback IMO. What issues with the law? Inspection or did you get stopped?

I have the bassani td system. Check the exhaust stickies. I posted a exhaust clip of my set up. mrr23, I think that his screen name, swapped his borla to bassani true duals and gained rwhp. Do a search under his screen name to get full scope.

borla, the bassani looks nice but i cant see spending a G on a TD setup that bolts up to manilfolds. you have to cut it up. plus i didn't like how it sounded. it sounds almost like a stock GTO which is poop to me. i also heard the hp gain wasn't much over a 3 inch catback exhaust. they compare it to a stock catback on the site which is poo anyway

Yes. You can get it modify to get it fit.

Suprisingly, my stainless works and bassani true duals lined up perfect.

Wow i didnt know that you had to modify it to get to fit to LT's. That is a huge deter. Hrmmm what do you think about getting Borla, with an electric cut out? (reason i say is i dont like the dual tips on the plate setup) Just an idea.. Help me out here

Only modifications I did was to put 3 bolt flanges on both true duals and LTs. If you opted for Borla CB, you will need aftermarket Y pipe to get it fitted to LTs don't you? Unless you are planning on keeping that stock Y.

The Borla tips are ugly. That alone would make me never buy them. If your buying exhaust now, TD's are a must. The only catback that is good and has less rasp is the GMMG. ALL catbacks that use a Y pipe will have rasp, some more some less.

lets put it this way: i have gmmg now. i would be more than happy to sell it to anyone. the sound is great. but i know it doesn't put out the power that other systems do. my car is slower after i swapped my magnaflow to this gmmg. i wouldn't even be looking at borla if it was me. i realize everyone is different and has different opinions. i want true duals. i just can't get a bolt on kit nor can i get anyone to make me a custom setup (that i would trust) that is within an hour or so of me.

was it just a borla catback or was it borla, ORY and LT. i can see a 15 rwhp if he had stock manifolds and y pipe. but if not thats a pretty damn good gain. i just heard from a some members and read threads that true dual gains are small like maybe 5-under 10 rwhp. IMO it's not worth the ground clearnece issues and i don't think dumps look all that great either but like i said thats just my opinion. and the bassani is a grand plus modifcation to get it to work with LT. you can LT,ory and a catback for under a grand
