Default Exhaust manifold sticky?

Anyone think this might be a good sticky to have? Maybe something with pictures, part numbers, year and model the manifolds came off of? With the wide variety of conversions taking place this might help some people out.

I think its an excellent idea.

It's place should be in the FAQ / Hall of Fame thread that has a bunch of useful info

Exhaust manifolds, oilpans, and front accessory drives are the biggest things to know what's available, since they're stuff that causes swaps to not fit.

Talking Yes...need some folks to give up thier goodies!

I'm with you. I'm building a 36 Chevrolet Low Cab and know I'm going to have a time finding a set of headers for the LS1. I was told that a set for a 67-69 Camaro LS1 swap might work. Needing something that fits in a set of tight frame rails but dont want to settle for the short block huggers type of headers.

Searching....searching.....

Justdreamin, I think the FAQ is a great place for something like this. I think it might help out the guys like stovebolter with a swap.

Default Wow.

WOW. LOL's. Yeah...exept full length tubed headers. The GTO headers look good. Just hoping someone had done a swap into something with narrow frame rails and knew what might come close to working. Any pictures of the performance headers used in the 67-69 Camaro LS1 conversions?

Ive gone through so many threads my eyes are bugging out. LOL's. Found several things on performance headers but most of them are a little vague. (not sure if I spelled that right). LOL's.

I dont have a tig welder...so really...a home fab is kind of out of the question. I suppose I could mig some steels and have them coated but I was hoping someone knew of something. Not too many people close to here with a LS1 set up.

In the near future I'll be swapping cam for something with 106 degree LSA. Like the thump. Maybe some CNC ported heads (maybe). And want to add some shine so I'll probably add a polished intake. Hence.....the long tube headers. Really want the flow.

Not sure If the pic of the C6 with cats are the correct picture. I thought the C6 LS2 had manifolds like this.

Looking closer you can see they say 35Th aniversary, so there F-body

Default C6 Z06

I'll admit...I like the C6 Z06 manifolds. But I assume a fella would have to get whoever he gets them from to get at least a portion of the outlet flange so they have something to attach exhaust.

They look like they might flow decent.

that's been another issue using ls(x) manifolds I had to make mine from scratch using 3/8" steel plates. and using the factory gaskets to trace out the shape.

Yeah...I was trying to justify buying a tig....guess I have now. LOL's.

But on the same note....I'm concidering another route. Just made a tread...."Thoughts of turbo charging". That may eliminate a couple problems.

the pic of the c5 vette manifold was only for the 2000 year model. the rest of the c5 vette(and z06) are the manifolds posted in the 1st picture(bottom set)

excellent thread!
