Exclamation Nightmare before Christmas!

What I had initially thought was a fuel problem with my 93 T/A is becoming a little scary. After replacing a fuel filter and using some fuel additives, my problem only escalated, making me think its far worse. What was originally an occasional problem idling and sometimes a hesitation in the engine has gotten worse. Now the engine seem like it doesnt want to turn over. The starter spins quickly and the battery is in great shape, Its like the ENGINE doesnt want to move. Also, the engine seems to be trying to freeze at speed, like it not breathing. This is starting to sound like a timing issue, and just today, while the car was shaking violently at about 55 mph(all the faster it would go) A loud and audible click-click-click-click could be heard from UNDER the car. Normally, about 95% of the time the car runs excellent, but it seems to have trouble in traffic and at idle, but so far no problems while below operating temp. I have been told this could be a catalytic converter problem, but most people I know reguard the cat. as the antichrist. Confused, bothered, and financially broke. Any help would be appreciated.

First thing first, list all mods for the car that you know of and how many miles on the car.

I would check out the injectors. Just had to replace them in my dad's ZR1 (all 16!!) after replacing every other ignition/fuel related part. It didn't run worth crap before, and after made a world of difference.

My car was running fine one day then started having a rough idle, which turned to barely idling, and huge misfire while trying to drive. Turns out plugs 1-3-5-7 were fouled. Had a bad 02 sensor. Replaced everything and it runs great.

The car has 80,000 miles and other than a K&N air filter, appears to be all stock. Its not showing any codes.

If it only does it once it gets hot which I think you said. It could be a cat. Just unbolt the exhaust at the manifolds and take it for a spin. Its a quick check.
